How to Add and Manage an API Key for Programmatic Access

1. Open Organization Settings

  • Start from your company workspace.

  • Open the company drop-down menu.

  • Select View organization settings.

  • This is the entry point for setting up API-based authentication.

 

2. Go to the API Keys Section

  • In organization settings, look to the right-hand side of the page.

  • Click the API keys button.

  • This opens the area where you can create and manage keys.

 

3. Create a New API Key

  • Click Add an API key.

  • A new key will be generated for you.

  • Important: copy the key immediately when it appears, because this is the only time it will be visible.

 

4. Save the Key Before Closing

  • Copy the generated API key right away.

  • After you close the dialog, the full key will no longer be shown.

  • You can then confirm the key was added to your list of API keys.

 

5. Delete a Key if It Becomes Exposed

  • If an API key is exposed or you suspect a security issue, locate the red delete button next to the key.

  • Click the delete button.

  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

  • Press Enter to finalize removal of the key.

 

6. Finish

  • The API key setup process is complete.

  • You can now use the key for programmatic access to the Light Lab system.
